I’m pretty sure I can guarantee a 10/12, but my writing MC isn’t flawless (sometimes I luck out, mostly I don’t) so I would really like an extra cushion of comfort for 800 on the writing.

In your experience, what makes the difference between a 10 and a 12. I looked on many sample essays, and at times, the 10 and the 12 are remarkably similar - the difference in aptitude being indistinguishable to me.

Length in itself has nothing to do with it, and vocabulary has little to do with it. The difference is the quality and quantity of reasoning involved when it comes to the argument. If you fill up the entire 2 pages with mostly details about your examples, you will not get a 12. There has to be a lot of reasoning and logic involved, connecting the examples to the actual argument and showing sophistication in backing up your thesis, as opposed to merely having good, thorough examples.
