What is the difference between American Lit. and English at UCLA?

Question is in the title. The pre-reqs are EXACTLY the same, so yeah… kinda confused. Also, does anyone know why the average gpa admitted for English is higher than american lit.?

It would probably be a good idea to ask people who actually attend UCLA.

Yeah, you’re probabaly right. So there’s a UCLA forumn here? I’m still kinda new.

yeppp just search for ucla!

American Lit. has more to do with American dominant and chracterized style of writing, because American writing is different than lets say british writing. Both require a lot of reading and writing so just because it says lit. doesn’t mean you won’t have to write. I’ll explain more in depth via a different source of communication (phone) because i cant get it on paper. Well not in a way that would help. Besides, Becca you know me in real life! and you knoe that I would know and yet you went asking on here before asking me. Now that just hurts. cry cry
