Hi, I recently got a request to one-on-one informational contact meeting, but I have no idea if that means an interview or not. Some have posted saying that it’s just an informational session where the CAAAN alumni will provide first-hand experiences at Cornell. Others, however have posted that the alumni will ask you about your reasons for wanting to attend and other questions… Does anyone know exactly what it could mean?

A couple of Cornell alums emailed me about this, and I actually had an informational contact meeting with them at my school last Monday. It lasted about half an hour, and I was paired up with one of the alums. It’s pretty much the opposite of an interview, because he basically answered any questions I had, and only asked me about what major I was thinking of pursuing. Hopefully, this is the same thing as yours. I would think it would be, since it’s an “informational contact meeting.”

this question has been asked and answered many mnay many times on this thread - use the search funtion

for ED they asked me about things ive done since i applied and if there was anything i didnt stress on my application that i wanted to.

^ My informal, informational meeting had this question as one of the main focuses as well. My alumni interviewer asked a similar question, and we discussed it for a fair amount of time.

no one cares about information contact meetings =)
