What is the easiest major to be accepted into and more challenging majors at Tennesse-Knoxville for a marginal applicant, I have multiple kids interested and just curious of the range of choices

Looking for least competitive and most major at Tennessee Knoxville- seems there are similar choices to choose from in the different colleges, will definitely pick their passion, but if similar enough, curious what is possible bs impossible

But don’t try to game the system. Apply for what you want and if you don’t get it, go somewhere you can - is what I like to say.

Generally your Arts & Sciences are easiest but that’s a general rule. Whether they admit to the school or major, I don’t know.

But English, anthro, geography etc. or undecided if an option.

It’s not in the FAQs but I would email or call and ask:

  1. Do they admit by major - UF doesn’t for example

  2. If yes, does one major in a college have an advantage over another ?

  3. Bonus - ask if they publish admissions by college.

In the end, if you know what you want to do, apply for it. If you don’t get in, go to a school that will set you up for life.
