<p>For the most part financial aid does not extend to summer session, though the Pell grant has recently been changed a bit to add a summer option - but it would only be 1/3 of the total Pell and wouldn’t make much of a dent. Cal Grants can be used for summer, but such use directly reduces the amount you get the following year.</p>
<p>Presidential and Trustee scholars have an “exceptional funding” optional available that can be applied to summer (just mentioning in case others looking in might be interested).</p>
<p>There is also an academic achievement award for students with high GPAs and either multiple majors or major/minor combos: they can apply to take up to 20 units per semester without additional charge if they need those units to complete their programs of study, but it does not apply to summer session.</p>
