Anyone know the largest lecture halls at Bryant and Trinity College Hartford?
Per this aggregator:
-
Bryant has 26% of its classes with fewer than 20 students, 74% with 20-49 students, and 0% with 50+ students. So my guess is no more than 50.
-
Trinity has 69% of its classes with fewer than 20 students 31% with 20-49 students, and 0% with 50+ students. So again, looks like no classes with more than 50 students.
For both schools I would take a look at the Common Data Set in section I-3 and you should be able to see a breakdown of classes with a bit more granularity in terms of 0-9 students, 10-19, 20-29, etc, all the way to 50-99 and 100+.
It also appears as though the Department of Education is trying to stop gamesmanship with respect to including class sub-sections (i.e. recitations, discussion sections, etc) of big lecture classes by making that a separate table from regular class sections.
You may want to check if the schools have online class schedules that show class sizes. If that exists, you can see the class sizes for specific classes of interest at each school.
Also, this would be a question you could ask if you are able to visit the schools.
Thank was amazing, where did you find that?
And I must have misunderstood what the person said.
We did a bunch of tours over a few days and I swore one of them said they have some classes that are really large. Of the schools it didn’t make sense because all the schools are pretty small and I thought it was one of these. Clearly I must have misunderstood.
“Pretty large” is a relative term.
If you look at the words “this aggregator” in my initial post, you will see that it is blue. That is a link to the resource I used to pull those numbers.
The clip showing class sizes was pulled from the Common Data Set template from the Department of Education. If you do a search for “College Name” and “Common Data Set” you should find the appropriate sets for the colleges of interest.
The largest class size at Bryant is 35. I work there. No large lectures at all.
