<p>if your efc is 45000 or more im sure you wont get any aid. Otherwise, it can’t hurt to try.</p>
<p>As you say, it depends on a lot of things–the aid policies of the college, family assets, family size, number of family in college, etc. It is uncommon for someone with an income in the upper 100s or more to get FA, and probably very rare except for extraordinary circumstances over 200k, especially since people with those kinds of incomes usually have matching kinds of assets. Everyone, though, can get an unsubsidized Stafford loan, of course.</p>
