I am currently a sophomore in college. Starting from six months ago, I have taken seven practice tests. I have not done any other type of prep. On the first test I graded myself at a 1980 (660 CR, 680 Math, 640 Writing with 62 MC Subscore and 10 essay). On my most recent one, I have graded my test as a 2105 by adding up the averages from the following subscore ranges: 660-760 CR, 620-680 Math, 690-800 Writing with 69-79 MC subscore and a 10 essay.

If I were to go through all the sticky threads and study ~2-3 hours a day (much more on weekends), could I hope to reach a 2300 or above? I plan on taking the SAT on winter of my junior year. I feel particularly discouraged because my math score is especially subpar. Can that be brought up to a 750 or above?

Also might be useful to add since all of the tests I have taken were only practice tests and not actual scores: I just received my PSAT score (taken in October) and scored a 214 (72 CR, 69 Math, 73 Writing).

EDIT: also worth noting, my practice scores are from the blue book second edition

I would spend as much time as possible doing practice problems, and trying to nail down specific techniques for answering the math questions. If you have the money, I recommend a book called “Pwn the SAT: Math Guide”. Study the methods for solving the problems; they fall into categories and can all be solved using several different simple methods. The book took my score from a 670 the first time to a 750 the second. Good luck.
