What is the most AP tests you've ever heard someone take by the start of senior year?

Wow, I’m LAME lol. I re-took AP Euro as well this year so hat took up my self study time. But obviously that’s no excuse since some of you guys self-studied like 4 at a time lol :)

I’ll have done 7-8 (depending on whether I do Gov/Econ Junior or Senior year)

By the end of my high school career I will have completed at the least 10 APs.
The ones I am know I am going to take for sure is Government and Politics, Language and Composition, Calculas BC, Biology, Modern World History, Enviormental Science, European History, Literature Composition, Chemistry, Compartive Government and Politics, Psych, and MAYBE Physics B.

My school only offers 5, and during AP Exam week, we still have to do all classwork, tests, etc. I think (because it’s the end of the year) that teachers like to double all their work that week as well. I took four tests this year, one was self studied, and I’m curious to see how I did. I’ll take the last two my school offers next year (senior year) and may self study a couple more. We’ll see…

I took 18 tests this year. I’ve taken 21 in total, and hope to earn the State AP Scholar award for Maryland this year as a rising senior.

Freshman year I took AP U.S. Gov. & Pol. Sophomore year I took Music Theory and APUSH.

Junior year I took BC and Spanish (the latter in a mixed IB/AP class) and took AP Lit, Lang, Chem, Euro, World, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: E&M with knowledge from my IB English, Chem, History, and Physics classes plus a little bit of self-study.

I also self-studied Chinese as a native speaker, and self-studied Psych, Enviro, Human Geography, Bio, Comp. Gov., Macro, Micro, and Stat. I’m hoping for 5s on all except for 3s on Stat, Macro, and E&M and 4s on Mechanics and Micro.

I’m finally done with APs, hahaha. Just a chill senior year of only IB. Of course, it doesn’t help that I’ve been waiting on edge for phone scores to come out for the past week.

A lot of people at my school only take the AP exams of the classes that are offered at our school as oppossed to self studying, because many people don’t know what that is. A friend of mine was among the few people in his graduated class that knew about it, and chose to self study for a lot of his exams. He graduated with the AP State Scholar with 25 exams. He recieved 22 fives, 2 fours, and a 2 (Music Theory). He was also enrolled in PSEO, which enabled him to actaully take college classes at a college nearby. With both the PSEO and the AP exams, he ended up graduating college after only 2 and a half years.

My insane cousin took 19 AP tests (all 5’s).
math: calc BC (class), stat (he just showed up)
science: bio (class), chem (class), comp sci (he just showed up), env sci (he just showed up), phys B (class), phys c: E&M and M (self-study), psych (he just showed up)
history: euro (he just showed up), US (class), world (class)
English: lit and comp (class), lang (class)
Misc.: comp gov and pol (he just showed up), us gov (he just showed up), macro and micro econ (both in same class)
Yes, he was a nerd, a crazy, crazy nerd.

Before senior year, I believe I’ve taken 16, all 5’s.

Why would you take so many tests in 1 year? How could your school condone this? And why take some if you weren’t sure of a 5 of them? Out of those you think you got a 3 on, Stat and Macro are easy to 5, and E&M isn’t supposed to be too hard to 4. Mechanics and Micro likewise are fairly easy to 5. You shouldn’t have done so many; it’s better to get 15 5’s than 13 5’s, 3 3’s and 2 4’s. Regardless, it’s rather insane to take 18 tests in a year. The State Scholar isn’t of very big importance in college admissions, even if you got it as a junior.

I will have 9 from classes at the end of this (my junior) year.
Sophomore:
AP World; my school restricts sophomores to this, or at least they did last year, excepting special conditions (e.g. a native speaker of a language, or if you already took the previous courses in a series)
Junior:
AP Lit (technically 12th grade)
APUSH
AP Macro
AP Micro
AP Calc BC
AP Comp. Sci.
AP Physics C: Mech
AP Physics C: E&M

If I don’t leave early, I’ll probably get another 4: US & Comp gov, chem
I’m planning on self-studying a few; Bio, Maybe a gov or two, Euro H, maybe Psych, probably Lang.
I have one of the highest amount in my school’s history. I think that only one person has had more, but I didn’t know him. But holy crap, 23??? I’d have run out of subjects that I was interested in by then!

The most I’ve heard of anyone taking was 20 by the end of Junior year (I think he actually took 21 but cancelled one of his scores because he got one two.) He ended up State Scholar last year - and may get the award again this year, though he’s not planning to take any more AP’s as far as I know.

I think as far as distribution it was 1 Frosh, 4 sophomore year and 16 (1 cancelled) junior year. O_O Yeah, that’s what I said too. But he ended up with pretty good scores (Mostly fives, a few fours, and one 3) Goes to show what you can do if you put your mind to it.

Wow is right when it comes to that guy! This is my first time taking AP(I’m a junior). They wouldn’t let me take AP Euro freshman year so I took the tantamount class at a CC. My school requirements filled up my sophomore year.

Junior Yr
Art History
Physics C Mech
English Lit
US Gov’t
Macro
Micro
US History(self study)

Next Yr
English Lang (my school teaches Eng out of order)
Comp Gov’t (self study)
Psychology
Chemistry
Biology
Environmental Sci (self study)
Human Geography (self study)
~Music Theory
~Stats
And I’m probably going to take Spanish Lang if I take a prep class this summer.

Well, at the school I go to (South Brunswick High School in New Jersey), 31 APs are offered. The only problem is in terms of science: They make you take physics in freshman year. Ugh.

So this is what I took/am taking:

FRESHMAN:

AP Physics B (5)

AP Calculus-AB (5).

I self-studied AP Calculus-AB due to my physics teacher recommending it for me. Good choice—they placed me in BC this year (I should’ve taken the Multivariable Calculus Linear Algebra course instead -___-).

Tips for AB: I suggest using the Princeton Review book. You might have difficulty with the Volumes of Solid of Revolution; not to worry, most people do. Just visit a good source that can aid you here. I understood it, but it took loads of practice to actually get the hang of it. Known cross-section volumes suck too. For the actual exam, I finished studying from January to April 2. On April 3, I made myself a review binder, in which I put all the free-response exams from 1969-2010 (my physics teacher gave me the resources) and then did each year 3 times. By May 4, the day of the exam, I was in pretty good shape. The multiple-choice section of AB is a breeze even with only Princeton Review. The only complaint I would have is that #5 on the AB free-response last year was unfairly difficult. Of course, now with proper knowledge in a legitimate BC class, I realize how easy it was. Stupid me. :P

My physics teacher last year made us do the same thing for AP Physics, which is why I got a 5 on that exam too.

ALWAYS MAKE A REVIEW BINDER.

SOPHOMORE (current year):

AP Calculus-BC

AP U.S. History

AP Computer Science A

AP Statistics

So I’m self-studying Statistics this year. The smartest kid in our district (took BC in 8th grade, ***) told me I could learn it in a weekend before the exam. I spent like a month on it. The exam’s coming up soon. Hopefully I do well.

My parents forced me to learn Java last year because it’s helpful in the real world apparently. Woot, an extra AP exam.

I’m actually in the other two classes.

JUNIOR (next year):

AP Macroeconomics

AP Microeconomics

AP Physics C—Mechanics

AP Physics C—Electricity&Magnetism

AP Psychology

AP Environmental Science

AP World History

I’m taking Honors Biology right now, so self-studying AP Environmental Science shouldn’t really be that bad. I’ve also heard that AP Psychology is one of the easiest exams, so self-studying shouldn’t be that bad hopefully.

In my school, both Macro- and Microeconomics are combined into a 90 minute course that meets every other day: AP Economics.

Yet AP Physics C is combined into one 90 minute class that meets EVERY day. Ugh. But I get the same physics teacher that I had last year as a freshman, so a 5 is guaranteed. In fact, in 2006, all of his AP Physics C students got double-5’s. #boss

But you have to take both exams if there are two. So for things like Spanish, Economics, Physics C, you have to take both exams in a given year or neither. Stupid really, considering that CollegeBoard doesn’t force you to.

They really need to incorporate some sort of Multivariable Calculus or Linear Algebra AP exam. I’ll max out the Mathematics AP exams this year!

AP World History is legit one of the only classes my school doesn’t offer. We do have a Global Studies class though. Hopefully I’ll be able to self-study using that class.

SENIOR (Class of 2014!):

AP Chemistry

AP Spanish Language

AP Spanish Literature

AP Literature and Composition

AP Music Theory

AP European History

Yeah, I’m taking the class for everything except Music Theory. But I’ve been playing piano since I was 7 (I’m 15 now), and been learning theory meanwhile. I should be fine.

Any thoughts/suggestions for other AP exams/comments?

So yeah, I guess that makes 19. I’m going for 19 5’s, but even I know that this is very unrealistic. I’m more of a math/science/spanish oriented person, but I still hate Biology. Screw AP Biology. :D

Cheers!

lol i have the same ap’s as you for freshman year so I’m probably going to run out of ap math tests by junior year as well… how hard was self studying ap computer science?

12 with self-studies.
I did 10 with the actual classes.

I’ve heard about someone taking 18 AP exams in one year. O_O

At my school, the most anyone takes by senior year is probably six.
