What is the most unusual thing your kid brought home from college?

My son just left his out-of-state college for good and brought/sent home TWO engines! One is a lawnmower engine and the other a car engine! He took them apart and shipped them home in flat-rate boxes and via Federal Express for the larger pieces. He brought a manifold home in one of his two checked bags! He’s an inventor and has yet to complete his latest design. His friends have been texting all week to see if he pulled it off!

Oooooo, I’ll play.

Yarn, crochet hooks, and many crocheted hats and scarves. Along with a new beard and long hair.

I have a hermit crab living in my office that my daughter brought home in 2008. The crab that will not die.

Her freshman year boyfriend.

Norovirus. We had to go out of our way to avoid touching anything he had touched for days.

Clearly, you’re not trying hard enough.

Good grades! LOL!

One son brought home a plate and 7 screws in his ankle. Luckily he was in the best state in the nation for ski injuries.

@Marian, :frowning:

Mono… She was mad that it ruined her break. I was glad she was home during her recovery!!

I brought home mono one year, and whooping cough when I was in grad school.

The only slightly weird thing my youngest brought home was some giant calligraphy in Arabic. (Done by someone who came to class or gave a lecture - not done by him.)

Pneumonia…still recovering
