Hi I have a question about the SAT II World History test.

I find it very difficult to study the religions of peoples throughout history. It’s hard to understand a belief system if I just read some short passages in the textbook. If I want to understand, I have to do research and study on the Internet. It will be very time-consuming, and more importantly, the knowledge about religion will not be very useful.

I want to ask you guys if they will test much about religions in the SAT II. What is the percentage of questions related to religions? How do you study this part of the test? How important is that kind of question?

THanks in advance!

There was 5 at most on the June SAT. And they were mostly easy. They were 5 pillars, confucianism being non-spiritual, brahmans were hindu priests.

The only hard one was a question about saints, but this SAT allows you to lose 18 points for a 800, so don’t worry. I would say know these: zoroastinism, hinduism, buddhism, confucianism, christianity, judaism, and islam. Just know the BASICS, and dont get too detailed.

A small enough amount - Equilibrium seems to be right about the questions. Only know the basics of the religions, that’s all they test. I knew the basic principles, religious texts (if any), founders, and major populations with that religion (e.g. know Indonesia has the largest Muslim population) and I got all the religion questions right.

Thanks, Equilibrium and jamesford. You have assured me about this.

I was never satisfied with basic things about those religions, and I often had to study on the Internet, and it took a lot of my time. For the test’s sake, now I will study only the basics.

Again, thank you very much.

What do you think about the questions about architecture and art?
I do find these kind of questions difficult, especially questions about architecture?
