What is the point of prep books?

I don’t understand what prep books are for… since its best to do only official BB practice tests and questions. Do we read them for strategies or what?

prep books are for prep. read the strategies.

I would say mostly for topic reviewing. People generally use Gruber’s prep book when they need a refresher in Math.

Just for some content review - if you are already in the 700’s you probably don’t need any more content - only practice.

Some books go over topics such as math skills. Also when one runs out of reading passages, they can read passages out of prep books to gather information on the “big picture” like tone. It helps you to prepare but the questions aren’t really reliable.

The guy who wrote tips for a 2400 would disagree for you since it’s ok to do other practice tests. They test similar concepts.
