what is the purpose of a fratnernity really?

I say this in all seriousness. They say they’re about “brotherhood,” and “philanthropy,” but that consists of less than <5 percent of their daily activities. I’m convinced that the whole purpose of a fraternity is to have the most outlandish parties in order to “seduce” the best looking sorority/other girls and to help all “brothers” get “lucky” for lack of a better term. Then after this, the goal is to make all other fraternities terrible in comparison by showcasing interfraternal trophies while recruiting freshman men who share this type A lustful personality.

So, the goal is to recruit more, have sex with the most hottest woman, and make all other frats fail in comparison… but they hide behind the once in a semester philanthropy,to make themselves look like strapping young lads! THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND SIMPLY NOT TRUE. Philanthropy, yeah right!

Partying, largely. Quite common knowledge that if you’re looking for upstanding members of society to look in the opposite direction of fraternities.

someone told me it was like 4 getting jobs n stuff after grad so i guess its kinda liek an unemplayment office but 4 rich ppl

El oh el…

Imo employers take fraternity on resume with a grain of salt!

I’m curious what about Tau Beta Pi…the engineering fraternity. I’m assuming the engineering part precludes partying but who knows.

the engineering fraternity is not in the same league as something like PIE or Sigma chi! That is a good thing!

Some professional fraternities are pretty similar to social (regular) frats. Many of them throw just as many parties.

Partying pretty much.

For being a bro.

Being able to say bro a million times a week has to be worth the admissions price alone :D

That cracked me up, dude.

The purpose is to be a ******, usually.

Tau Beta Pi is more of an honor society as described here.

Why do you care so much about other people’s lives?
