<p>Hi, everybody. I’ve got another weird question I should probably already know the answer to.
When I registered for my first SAT, I had the option of sending SAT score reports to up to 4 colleges for free. I did do that, but I’m still not entirely sure what the purpose of the score reports is. Basically what I’m wondering is, what is the purpose of sending the score reports? What do the colleges do once they receive the reports?
I’d appreciate any help you could give me. This is my first SAT test, so there’s a lot about the process that I haven’t learned yet.

<p>The purpose of the score reports is to transmit the test scores to the colleges that you are interested in/applying to. Once the colleges get the score reports, they add them to your application file (assuming you have already submitted an application) so that the test scores can become part of the criteria used to evaluate your request for admission, or if the school has not yet received an application from you the scores report is held in anticipation of possible receiving an application that the scores can be matched with.</p>
