What is the "sexiest" college?

Ask and ye shall receive. The teams haven’t played many common opponents over the years, but since 1995, they’ve played 7 (1995 Wisconsin, 1995 USC, 1996 Wisconsin, 1999 Wisconsin, 2004 ASU, 2005 ASU, 2006 UCLA). In those games NU holds a record of 2-5 :frowning: Stanford holds a record of 1-5-1. So not much difference there, but NU is still in the lead.

Another method of comparison: Jeff Sagarin’s computer rankings (used in the BCS formula), which attempt to determine which team would win if the two played heads-up (mostly based on strength of schedule and performance of common opponents against common opponents), since the 2003 season (as far back as I can find). Northwestern finished ahead of Stanford in those rankings 3 out of 5 years.

The Vegas lines right now predict Northwestern at +/-6.5 wins this year, Stanford at +/- 4 wins.

I’m not saying it’s a huge advantage for Northwestern, but I’m saying that the numbers bear out NU has been the better team recently and currently. Eventually we’ll see who’s better on the field; the teams are scheduled to face off in 2014 and 2015.

Are you kidding? I’m not being arrogant, I’m trying to correct the misperceptions you so happily state as fact.
