What is the starting salary of an electrical electronic engineering technician? :)

My boyfriend is very interested in a program at our local community college that has an associate’s degree in electrical electronic engineering technology that can be completed in only 4 semesters! When I looked at salary reports online, they gave me a salary range of $50,000-$70,000, but this is all the “median”, I’m just wondering what the STARTING salary might be? Thanks in advance to everyone that answers! :)

That seems really high for a starting technician. I used to be a tech, and I don’t think any but the most senior were making over $40k (relative to today).

Come on cosmicfish. She already said that wasn’t starting. ;-)

Other than that, I have no ideas but my guess based on other technician positions would be the mid-40’s to low-50’s.

My friend’s dad is a electronic technician, but he only makes 40k even with 15 years of experience.
Consider a teacher can make above $70k with 15 years of experience . Not sure if it’s all worth it.

That is highly dependent on the school district and the locality.

Yes. I forgot to slip in NYC.

^^ I know many teachers from my highschool personally that make over 75k right outside of Rockford, Illinois in a small town called Rockton.

My last job as a technician was in 2002, and I started at $25k. I had some college but no actual degree, and had a few years of experience with good recommendations.
