What is the style in New York City now?

wear black?..dear…black is w/e…actually funcky colors are nice…and even though those stupid ugs are ugly…they are in…lacoste shirts(i dont like it because its not that hot at all)…pink is big…umm lacoste has even become an urban thing…uhh…usna…nothing looks weird here…its how u can rock whatever u have…its what u can pull off…a lot of jewlery is nice…but not trashy ones…nice pretty earrings…ya know…honestly nothing is too weird…look in the mirror…if u look weird in illinois wearing w/e ur wearing…ull look weird everywhere…doesnt matter wear ur at…just be comfortable!!!really there are a lot of cute different outfits…check out hnm or express or even forever 21…they sometimes have nice stuff…arrity…

btw thomas is right…depends on what area your talking about…where i live…ppl rock mostly north face ecko vanson baseball hats…

Here’s a nice rule for all of the people out there trying to be stylish…DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go by what you see on like reality TV and shiz like that…by the time it airs it is last season and OVER. Additionally, I HIGHLY suggest reading mags like vogue and trying to catch some runway shows so you can get an idea of what’s to come for next season so you’re CURRENT and not merely trying to be stylish aka rip off last season’s trends–SO TACKY! I just want to puke every time I see someone wearing UGGS. Try about October of 03 kids.

Ohhh and I don’t mean try to copy the runway looks…I just mean watch them to get an idea of the “vibe” for the season, i.e. colors/shapes/etc. Then try to give it your own spin. :D

unfortunately ppl still wear those ugly uggs…gahHH!!..

How about liking something yourselves for once, instead of following trends. What exactly is the point? It would be nice if someone could explain this to me. If you have no sense of what looks good then you do not deserve praise or attention for being stylish. On a side note, some things never go out of style. I recommend staying with whatever is classic.

What is really “tacky” is trying to be “current” with whatever a reality show presents. Stop looking for acceptance and start dressing yourselves. You people change your tastes with every new issue of Vogue. What if pink goes out of style in a few months. Does that make pink any less appealing in general? You must have never really liked the color if you will suddenly stop wearing it because certain designers decide that they do not like it. Only someone unsure of herself would go clambering around for whatever others find fashionable. Here’s some advice: pick styles from what is available, not from what you see on Sex and the City on a given week.

I don’t care too much for what’s in the moment then wearing it. Last month when I went to NYC and my friends and I looked so out of place. It was our first time in the city and we looked like bums going into a fancy resturant. Yet I didn’t know it was that bad as in you get looked at funny if you wear something from last season, whatever that is…Oh well this is very interesting. I’m not buying anything new I’m going with what I have already.

If you read my post you’d see that I said “AND THEN GIVE IT YOUR OWN SPIN”. I’m not looking for acceptance and I do dress myself…it just so happens that I like to get new IDEAS from what’s going on in Europe or with certain designers. Not to mention, it is common for certain colors to be associated with seasons in terms of fashion…it doesn’t mean you don’t like those colors, it just means that they aren’t appropriate to wear at that time.
Anyway the whole point I was trying to make is that you’re going to look stupid if you copy what everyone else is wearing or WAS WEARING as is usually the case (ie. Ugg syndrome). I was merely trying to give advice for people who want to be more in tune with the fashion world, and if you’re happy not knowing whats in season or whatever then that’s fine.
