just out of curiosity…

hey guys…

just out of curiosity…
what really is the lowest score anyone ever got?

I’m pretty sure that information is confidential. But, if somebody genuinely knows, please do tell…

The Ivy League utilizes a tool called the Academic Index (AI for short) which is a number assigned to a recruited applicant consisting of SAT I and II scores along with class rank used for recruited athletes to make sure they can make it in a tough academic institution. Athletes are considered to have the biggest “hook” for getting into a school, so it follows that athletes could get by with the lowest SAT scores.

I do not know how the AI is calculated, but this tool [Academic Index Calculator - Ivy League](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm) has sometimes been used here on CC.

I believe the lowest allowed score for an Ivy League athletic recruit is 171 (at the very lowest), so I popped some numbers into the AI tool and came up with the following:

If someone was 1 in a class of 750, the lowest SAT scores they could get would be as follows (I am sure there are many combinations but this was the simplest)

SAT I Verbal 500
SAT I Math 500
SAT II Anything 430
SAT II Anything 400
SAT II Anything 400

Now, has this unexpected dichotomy of super high rank and super low scores in a recruited athlete ever occurred? We may never know…

I would like to know also about that!

Hahahah wowowww

what do they do for schools that don’t provide GPA or class rank?

If it were a class of 750 potential athletes with all bad SAT scores then yes!

according to this

[Princeton University | Admission Statistics](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/admission_statistics/)

.6% of applicants with a 1500-1690 were accepted

I don’t know what the lowest SAT is but I know a kid with a 1590/1600 when they didn’t have the writing section but he was ranked something like 120/400 in his class and he got in so i guess a low class rank can still get in. Hope that helps.

I have a 97.5 gpa and rank in the 50th percentile in my school… so i guess its not just GPA

Wow. secowis, your school has serious grade inflation.

actually it is one of the specialized high school. Most senior classes are weighted

I think If I got in, I will historically be the student with the worst SAT I score with 1380/2400
Besides, my SAT 2 came out today I really do not think it improves my chance rateher than make it worst…
english lit 460
Math 2 600
French 800

So ivy babe, i think your question will be answered after march 31st although now I do not believe in anymore…
