What Is Tortious Discharge ?

For my legal writing class we have to do this big assignment…

And tortious discharge came up, looked on the internet but couldn’t find the definition or the ones I found were too wordy/convoluted…

Does you know what it is and what’s imp. about it?

Sounds painful! It more than likely has something to do with tort law. Google: tort discharge and maybe something will come up.

i already googled it but nothing complete and concise showed…

anyone else know…

i found a million things on it on google

I suspect it is talking about what lawyers usually refer to as “wrongful discharge” from employment claims, which includes a number of different types of claims, e.g., statutory claims for being discharged because of your race, religion, gender, or age; numerous types of “retaliatory discharge” claims where the employee asserts such things as he was wrongfully discharged for pursuing a workers’ compensation or health claim or for providing information of a company’s criminal acts to authorities.
