i am an indian studying CBSE board in class XII i wanted to know in our school there is nothing given such as GPA jus marks and GRADE no overall rank also…now my 9th wasnt tht well 10th was gr8 11th was good and 12th i do good so what are my chances??and how do i find out my GPA and which GPA do u have to submit weighted or unweighted??

To determine GPA, you assign a number to each grade. A is 4, B is 3, and so on until F is 0. For each + or -, add or subtract 0.3 . Then average all your scores and this becomes your unweighted GPA. To determine your weighted GPA, you give more points to courses that are advanced or accelerated. The system for weighted GPA is different from school to school.

When you apply to colleges, usually your school sends a transcript of your grades to each college you apply to. So you don’t have to send them your GPA, although you could.

As to your chances, I can’t really say. Colleges want to know more about your grades than “good.” Questions like what grades did you exactly get, what courses did you take, and did you grades improve overall and very important.

ah well i got 3b+'s and 1a+,1a- 1c,in my 10th and 1 a 2 b’s 1 c 1 d in 11th(gawd tht yr sucked) n i am planning to get all a’s this yr which i will get so what could be my unweighted…my subjects in my 11th and 12th were English,Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry,Computer Science(core C++) any idea someone calculate my gpa please
