I found I slept better and woke up in a better mood when I read ‘Change your thoughts ,change your life…Tao’ than when I read ‘Pulling your own strings’. Interestingly, it is the same author Wayne W Dyer. I never thought of the reading material as making a difference.
What is your favorite reading material just before sleep?
Just whatever novel I’m reading. Content doesn’t matter - that’s my regular reading time - just before bed.
When my kids were younger I tended to read magazines before bed - probably the shorter articles and stuff suited my tired parent brain!!
^Wow, me too, abasket. But I like to read something on my kindle when I get into bed, so it doesn’t disturb H, who is usually in bed before I am.
I have to read before bed. I can’t sleep without it. (unfortunately that also means my body is trained to go to sleep when I read which is a problem…)
I just read whatever book I’m reading. I’m a sci-fi and fantasy novel fan.
I’m also a kindle person… But it’s so I don’t have to get out of bed to turn off the lights when I’m done reading haha.
Inspirational reading does not inspire me. I’m more likely to think, “Yeah. Yeah. What else?” and be bored long before sleep. When I do read something philosophical and it grabs me, I’m more likely to stay awake thinking about it. So, despite being an English professor, I’m most likely reading a popular novel before sleep. Or maybe history or science written for a non-specialist.
I went through a romance novel stage for a while, now I’m into self help books. I read technical information all day so I need something different at night. I do like the Kindle on my iPad, I feel like a little kid getting away with something in the night mode - does not wake up H.

I read novels - like romani - heavy on the sci-fi and fantasy, though right now I’m reading a mystery written by a friend of mine.
Another Kindle person! I read a wide variety of genres, including non-fiction, but I especially love a good mystery!
