What is Your Favorite Dessert?

  1. Chocolate chip cookies
  2. Chocolate lava cake
  3. German chocolate cake (depends on the recipe though)

Can you tell I like chocolate?

Ice cream almost any flavor.

A couple:
my husband’s apple pie
my cousin’s cherry cheese cake
my grandmother’s lemon meringue
a local restaurant’s key lime
my Irish whiskey cake

I am going to try to make a chocolate, Bailey’s cake this weekend!

Nothing fancy. Vanilla ice cream with fresh berries, dark chocolates shavings, and a splash of cherry liqueur.

Haupia and chocolate pie is a huge favorite around here, as is haupia pumpkin bars. Yum!

We have a cheesecake from a recipe passed down through the generations from Poland. Our family only makes it once a year at Easter. It’s about a foot tall. I also love Pumpkin Chiffon Pie with whipped cream and Hawaiian Pumpkin Delight.

Key lime pie (mine) , brownies topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce (always a hit) and creme brulee

I make a raspberry tart that is very popular with crowds, although it is not raspberry season now. This time of year I would probably go with cheesecake for a gathering, since my pie crusts are erratic. There is also a warm apple pizza with whipped cream that would do well for a February gathering.

Bananas Foster or Creme Brulee

Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, fruit tarts.

Hot fudge sundae.

Creme Brûlée, Cheesecake with caramel, or really good bread pudding!

No chocolate! Yuck! I’m a mutant!

Cherry pie, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate ice cream. And those special family recipe pastries.

Banana cream pie, lemon meringue pie, NY style cheesecake, and one that might fit the regional foods thread: Bassett’s banana ice cream.

Everything chocolate but especially chocolate mousse.

When I was in Paris one time, I ordered chocolate mousse for dessert. I was given a hugh serving bowl of mousse and no smaller bowl or plate to serve myself I really did not know what to do. Was I suppose to eat out of the large bowl? I tried to ask the server, but he did not speak English. H and I started to laugh, that uncontrollable type of laugh, because we had no idea what to do.i don’t even remember what I did.

The next we rode up the elevator at our hotel and an Englishman looked at me and asked
“Did you enjoy your mousse?” He then nodded and got off.

Still not sure what I was suppose to do, but I could have eaten the whole thing. Well probably not, but I would have enjoyed trying!

I had mentioned fruit pie in my post - being more specific of a favorite, cherry pie.

And since most don’t seem to be keeping to “one” favorite, I would have to say that a really good tart lemon bar is hard for me to pass by.

Oh, I forgot about the churros and hot chocolate at Xoco in Chicago! That is some crispy cinnamon goodness.

We have a family recipe that is my favorite. It is like a chocolate cake baked in a syrup (sugar water & melted marshmallows). Has walnuts in it. Ideally served with cream over the top, although vanilla ice cream or whipped cream will do in a pinch. I’ve never served it to guests, except D1’s fiancé (it was a test – he liked it, so he can join the family).

Chocolate cake with chocolate icing is my favorite.

Chocolate Biscuit Cake!
