What is your go to recipe?

I was reminded of this thread as I realized we are having last minute guests for dinner tonight and I’m working today so needed something quick and easy. This is my go-to recipe for these situations! It’s an instant pot recipe (we haven’t had that thread active in awhile!) and is always a hit. For the most part, I usually have these ingredients on hand.

Thanks you, saved that.

My go to is shrimp cocktail. I get very large shrimps with shell on and only cook it until they turn pink (1-2 min more if prefer well done), run them under cold water then peel. I usually leave the tail on for easy pick up. I chill them before serving.
My kids always ask me to bring it because they claim they can’t do it right.
I used to do the charcuterie board, but D2 has taken over that. She is very good at picking out the creamiest cheeses.

Made this a couple times this week, and all enjoyed.

Let me preference this by saying that I love my Mountain Dew, but any recipe that calls for it requires Dueling Banjos from Deliverance to be playing in the background.

How about using this version of the Amish Apple dumpling next time you have a barn raising . “

Apple dumplings are an iconic food to many Pennsylvanians, a dessert that, like for Becca Lynde, recalls time spent at grandma’s house, or the comforting feeling of cozy autumn evenings around the dinner table. “
