What Is Your Superpower????

I can spot a typo from the other side of the room.

I realize this is a very minor natural talent, but it’s the only truly special quality I have. I was born to proofread.

I can find four-leaf clovers. Really. I’ll often just be walking along, and spot one on the grass. Talk about useless powers!

My D has an amazing superpower that she’s had since toddlerhood. She can sense how people are feeling and why even if very little is said. She’s extremely accurate.

H is extremely meticulous and can cheerfully and slowly rebuild most things, making them as strong or stronger than ever before.

S is very good at figuring things out very quickly. His lab partners always noticed this superpower and liked it.

I can always find a way out of a mess or just get things done. I am persistent like a pitbull.

I am also lucky that I often recover (important) things I have lost, 1) passport left at an airport to be returned to me in time for an overseas trip, 2) an expensive jacket left in a cab, 3) a handbag at a train station, 4) a tennis diamond bracelet at a Japanese store. The handbag I lost had my all of my IDs, keys, iphone from work, not to mention a very expensive bag.

I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue. I can turn coffee/tea into pee.

On a more serious note, I am able to do something I don’t consider noteworthy at all, but others assure me it is. I can stand in a room and, with my eyes open, accurately change the paint color or decor (curtains, fabric, furniture, etc.) at will as though I’m looking at or constructing a photograph. I rarely make a design mistake as my visual sense is photographic. (But I only use this power for good.) I can actually “see” anything I’m able to imagine. I also used a variation of this power in school to recall pages in textbooks for answering test questions. I thought everyone did this. Guess not.

This thread is laugh out loud funny.

I can remember events or conversations from forever, small things or parts that leave me wondering why. Somewhat like ChoatieMom, I think it’s a visual thing, imprinting.

I don’t hold grudges and I forgive.

I am a master of search engines and have a very good sense of smell of BS. Eons ago, while walking by kiddo’s room, I overheard her talking to someone. “No, that is a bad idea - you don’t know my mom. She is like a CSI.” “Perfect,” I said to myself and kept on walking. Thus the Bunsen clan had not contributed to the teen pregnancy or drunk driving statistics.

I am a momma cat. I wash my kittens and make sure they are well fed, happy, and safe. When I am hurt, I don’t show it because predators might get me if they see that I am weakened. So far, I have only used 3 or 4 out of my 9 lives, so still have many more to go.

I can spot hidden wild animals. Mr. B thinks it is magic. I think it is good peripheral vision. He is always happy to snorkel or nature hike with me.

While I can’t thimk of any skills I have, this has been so fun reading about everyone else’s.

I am very good at mediation/negotiation, which I attribute to 1) an innate sense of empathy, and 2) approaching every negotiation using the “Four F’s” approach; that is, being firm, fair, frank, and friendly.

I remember my older son that when they did spelling tests he just read the words off the blackboard the way they had been when the teacher first wrote them down.

When I read Temple Grandin’s *Thinking in Pictures * she talks about rewinding videos, I told my kids about it. He said, “Doesn’t everyone do that?”

I have another. I can usually spot a you-know-what (under bridge dweller) on CC in one post.

I am I human compass. I can tell where north south ect is at any given time or place, even if you blindfold and spin me. That also includes a wonderful sense of direction and not getting lost. Sometimes using a map or gps actually confuses my intuition. I also am a grammar police.

Can spot a mosquito in a room. It’s a curse.

I can memorize a song after hearing it maybe twice. Then I’ve got it forever. This makes me legend among my chorus sisters. BTW I can follow, but not read, music.

So many things I cannot do :-< .

I do have wonderful and amazing parking karma. I can drive just about anywhere and pull up in front of the
building when no one else can find a place. My H and D finally get it and if driving trust me. Happened last
night.

I am tenacious. I just do not believe there is anything that cannot be figured out and changed.
H is a “can’t be done” guy yet once I figure it out executes the solution better than me.

I solve difficult life situations quickly–or I sleep on it and wake up knowing the answer.
I am so far ahead of others that it is a problems at times. Many times. Often. And I am nearly
always spot on.

Knew H’s brother was awful within 10 minutes of meeting him. H finally agrees 36 years later
 .

I’m great at remembering minutiae and dates that things happened. DH is always saying, how do you remember that? Now, don’t ask me what the name of that piece of wood that goes around the floor is, or the word for other common things!

My niece has a superpower of remembering birthdates, phone numbers and I believe perhaps even addresses. H is great at remembering esoteric things and is great at trivial pursuit.

Nothing special here. I always wished I was part Betazoid.

I
@HImom , I had a coworker who remembered phone numbers. It was so weird, we would test her with the company directory.

My superpower is focus. In the heat of almost any moment, I can still try to handle a situation based on what I want in the long term or big picture. I use my internal pause button a lot.

My other superpower is remembering to always have dog kibble in my pocket.
