Hello,

I was just assigned my dorm. Broome street. Room type is Room Type:double / 2B / 3

When it comes to beds, there are three of us in this dorm. How is one supposed to know whether or not they have their own room (this is a 2b apartment) or share a room?

Under occupancy information, one person has BMA-1
BMA-2
BMB-1

I’m assuming A-1 AND 2 share while B-1 has his own room?

thanks for the help

imfrickenfoofy,

So glad to read that you got assigned a dorm! Did you have to do battle with NYU or was it just a mistake on their part? I believe I read that the Broome St place is where the residential college is for upperclassmen. If that is the right dorm (and not Lafayette), I read good things about it.

I don’t know anything about the configuration, but I would call the Hall Director at Broome and speak to her/ him to get more info about the room. (Unless some student responds first who knows about Broome.) That was what I did to find out about sonny’s
room at Founders. The Hall Director was very helpful and nice.

From the way it sounds, it’s a double + a single, which means you have a high probability of being in a room with the RA.

Evolving, I literally just pmed you.

It was definitely a battle. I spoke with four different departments, not telling each one I had called the other. I also made it clear that if I was not assigned a proper dorm, on time, I would defer transferring at take classes at UCLA this semester and transfer in the spring. I believe their need for tuition money, and my threat, may have had something to do with it.

Missamericanpie, I’m assuming then since I am assigned BMA-2, I’m in the double, while BMB-1 has his own room? Also, does having an RA as a roommate suck?
