Well, I’ve looked all over the internet and have not found much. I’m guessing that it’s indicative that this school isn’t talked about much. I can’t really find anyone who goes there and is majoring in the same program I am. I don’t know how strong their math or physics department is and I’ve found zilch about it.

I won’t be visiting the campus until July for orientation, but I would like to talk to someone about it if they know anything about the math/physics department or the campus itself.

The only thing I did manage to find is a huge amount of people bashing CPP versus CP SLO.

Unfortunately CPP lives in the shadow of CP SLO. Even as a California resident I had never heard of it until I started applying to colleges and saw a list of all the public schools in CA.

Yeah, I had never heard of Pomona until a friend told me about it. Weirdly enough, I had never heard of Cal Poly SLO either or any of the UC campuses besides UC Berkeley/UCLA (until I applied)…been at a CC for 3 years, lol.

Same here, I never heard about CPP until last summer. Anyone majoring in mathematics?

Sent from my MB508 using CC

I think you’re in good hands. Just because the school does not have the name “SLO”(w) next to it doesn’t make it a bad school, and almost every school in the country “lives in the shadow” of another school (unless you go to MIT). Between now and orientation, you might want to go to the Rate My Professors website and try to find out which professors are good, and which ones you should avoid. The professors you select can have a big impact on your college experience.
