I heard that depending on their materials, some clothes will shrink if I use the dryer to dry them instead of hanging them up. Does anybody know about this? And if I do need to air-dry my clothes, can I buy a drying rack to hang my clothes up in my dorm? I am to live in a standard double room in townsend hall in ISR. Thanks.

You’ll need to pay close attention to the mfg. laundering/washing instructions located on the clothing labels. Wool has the highest incidence of shrinkage problems. But you can wash in cold water and use “woolite” for those items. The ends of your bunkbeds make decent drying racks. Most college kids wear jeans, Tshirts and sweats. These are mostly all-cotton and wash/dry pretty easily. Also, to avoid excessive wrinkles, be sure to not let your clothing sit for very long in the dryer and fold your clothes as soon as the dryer cycle is finished.

thanks for the reply. but most of my clothes aren’t all-cotton. but i will check the labels. thanks again! :)

100% cotton will shrink. make sure you don’t use high heat on the drier. I speak from experience. although if you have nice branded cotton shirts like Nautica and Van Heusen you should be fine
