<p>Hey everyone ! I got my second set of SAT scores back today and was fairly disappointed… I only went up 10 points in reading. My total score is a 1820, with a 650 in reading, a 610 in math and a 560 in writing. I really want to get these up (especially the reading and writing), but will I be able to get in schools like Wake Forest, Furman and Elon with these types of scores? And would you suggest taking an SAT class or is it not worth the money? Thanks!</p>
<p>SAT class is not worth the money, If you really care about your sat scores then you’ll buy the blue book and do it yourself. That’s waht they do in the class.</p>
<p>I disagree, I think that the class is very helpful. I took the class, and my practice tests grades went up from ~750 math, ~540 CR and ~ 580 Writing to, on my 1 and only SAT attempt (taking it again in a month) 780 math, 740 Writing, and a 570 Critical Reading, but that was my fault, cuz I didn’t really take the memorization of vocab words seriously. I won’t make that mistake again. The class raised my score by ~220. I say that’s a pretty good bang for your buck. Also you don’t just do tests from the blue book. We learned techniques and strategies on how to do well, such as which is a bi*** and it is vomit. This basically just means if in the writing section one the answer choices has either it or which in it, it is most likely wrong. This helped me as I only got 2 questions wrong on writing (I only got a 740 on it cuz I got an 8 on the essay, but that wasn’t the SAT tutor’s fault, because I took a PSAT course, so the essay wasn’t a part of it). You don’t need one on one tutoring, just join a class. It’s more affordable, and you get just as much out of it. Make sure you go to a reputable SAT tutor. I say if you can afford it, go for it.</p>

<p>as far as I know Wake Forest doesn’t see your SAT score. you submit it after you are admitted</p>
