I’m applying to the Columbia University Dual BA program. I have kind of weird history as in I moved around a lot, I have a confusing housing situation, my grades are a little messed up too.

On their FA application it just vaguely says:

Now, the only document I believe I have out of that list is the 2012 income tax return for my dad (my mom does not work). How do I know what other kinds of documents I should be uploading? There is a space to explain the quirks I mentioned above, which I did.

If it were me, I would provide them as much documentation from their list as possible.

You do realize that you WILL be required to provide documentation of your 2013 income in order for any need based financial aid to be awarded.

In my opinion, the less you provide, the less likely it is you will receive the money you might want. Columbia provides need based aid only, many it is based on documented income and assets from 2013 for the upcoming year.
