What 'levels' of classes does your school have?

I was in an argument with this kid other day- I was under the impression that most schools had college prep leveled courses, Honors courses, and AP courses. He said no, most schools were like ours, having CP courses, Medium courses (in-between college prep and honors), honors, and AP. What levels does your school have?

AP

Honors

College Prep (Average)

General

Is general supposed to be for the ‘dumb kids’?

AP/College Class (You can also buy college credits)

College Classes (You pay for credits from a college, but there is no AP test)

Honors

Regents Level Courses (Regents is NYS Test)

General courses

Usually if you need the class but not the regents people will take the general class to avoid having to take the test

AP

Not really a step down, but dual-enrollment…basically same “level” as AP

Honors

T/A…considered the “college bound classes”. In all honesty, anyone can take these, even non-motivated kids. Really no difference between this and “regular” classes.

Regular

CT…for the “dumb” kids, basically. (And no, it’s not offensive, because I bet if I told them CT classes were for dumb kids to their face, they wouldn’t take offense)

AP

Pre-AP

Honors

Regular

1 Ap
2 Honors
3 General
4. Remedial

AP/Honors (though a class is never offered in honors if AP/honors is offered)

AP

Honors

Scholars

Regular

AP/college classes

Honors

AP

Honors

College Prep

Regular

Remedial

AP

Honors

Regular

And then you can also take classes at a nearby college and get credit too as a senior.

AP/IB- highest levels offered

Honors- for freshman and sophomores as they cannot take AP/IB

Regular- For kids who cannot handle the workload of higher leveel classes

IB

AP

Dual Enrollment

Honors

Regular

Remedial

Technically, yes

AP
Honors
Regular/ cp (same thing)

No class has both an honors and ap version.

1: AP (+2.0 weighted)
2: Honors (+1.0 weighted)
3: Regular (+0.0 weighted)

AP classes
College credit
Honors classes ( these classes are basically the general ones)
general

I know alot of schools have IB programs too

AP

Pre-AP/Honors Gifted

Honors

Regular

Remedial

No class has both a Pre-AP and an AP version, but since Pre-AP classes are prerequisites for AP classes, AP should theoretically be harder.

AP

Honors

TA

Regular

SDAIE

AP
Dual enrollment
Honors
College Prep
