What looks better?

All things being the same what looks better to a recruiter hiring for a summer analyst position, whose from a major I-bank (ie. Morgan Stanley, Goldman, Merrill Lynch, etc.), for students who will complete their junior year before the the internship begins: a student from Amherst College with a 3.3 GPA and economics major or a student from University of Florida with a 3.8 GPA and an accounting/finance major? Or is it about a wash?

Assuming they both have identical work experience, EC’s, etc.

like heck, the uflorida person!

amherst will need a harvard upgrade for me to consider he/she as a strong opponent/contender for the uflorida person…either that, or their interpersonal skills have to be whoa!

For internships at top BB’s like Goldman, what’s a good GPA coming from the Wharton School of Business?

I believe the UF with a 3.8 would look better.
