I didn’t even notice the date – it’s from June of 2008. Why is someone digging up old news to post? And more importantly, why was this news in June? Weird.

what is weird about the news being from June? isn’t that a few months after letters come out? Anyways, he is pretty much the perfect student that we see everyday here on CC. Good GPA, good EC’s, i’m sure good test scores. Everything about him screams ivy league, especially picking up english so quickly and being so proficient at it.

However, I think that he is one of the lucky ones to get admitted almost everywhere he applied. Hundreds of other students have statistics similar to his but will only get into 1 maybe 2 of their reach schools. He’s lucky enough to slip by and get accepted by 7 ivies.

His grades were obviously great (as were, I’m sure, his scores), and his ECs were incredibly focused. Model UN, speech/debate, and Mock Trial are all very related, very time-intensive activities. If he succeeded at a state or national level in all of them, that’s impressive.

Sidenote: I bet no females have even made eye contact with him since he got to Cambridge haha. What a total goober. At least I’m better looking than him ;)

I guess I’m alone here, but I think this story is 100% awesome. The kid seems genuinely nice, and clearly accomplished. I hope he is finding success, challenge and fun at Harvard.

On a side note, what did he mean about testing in Poland being “collaborative”? Did he mean you could work off of your neighbor’s paper? Interesting concept!

I think it’s funny that they attribute his success to his 104.7 GPA due to weighted grades; I’m sure there are lots of other kids for whom grade weighting gives them a really high GPA, and they don’t all get into 7 Ivies!
