What major covers the prehistoric times?

I want to study how we all came to be, and became the beings we are today.

I like both the psychological aspect of this (experiments, deeper side) as well as the history of it all.

Sounds like anthropology to me.

Yes, sounds like anthropology. But, the subject also is informed by other fields such as evolutionary biology.

Sounds like some combination of psych and anthro.

Its basically anthropology. You can take psych, linguistics, and evolutionary biology electives to fulfill elective requirements (Or perhaps as a concentration) and complete what you’re looking for, but the major you would study is anthropology (The study of humans everywhere throughout time).

anthropology and some linguistics (you mentioned language in the title).

Generally: Anthropology
Specifically: Human Anthropology

Cultural Anthropology, linguistics, specifically psycholinguistics, maybe a little bit of archaeology or paleontology

^ wrath, what exactly is psycholinguistics? I assume it is some combination of psychology and linguistics but in what context is it used? I have been hearing of this field a lot recently.

Yeah it’s probably anthropology, and your likely to probably study ancient languages.

( I plan to major in political science/ international relations and would like to know what language should I study in college, I think I will study spanish since I’m takign it in high school, and plus it basically covers the southern hemisphere, while many in northern hemisphere knows english)
