I know the basics that you’ll need such as a hook and a descriptive story etc. etc…but can someone tell me the specifics that my essay will need? I’ve looked online for help and some of the websites are very broad when giving tips…or maybe that’s just me haha
A great story (or two) is the single most important part of a great PS. Great stories can be used to illustrate many different qualities or themes, so if you start with the most interesting stories of your life, you can use them to make great, great essays–going the other way (starting with a theme) is dumb and risky because if you have to cherry-pick stories to support it, you’re not likely to be using your best stories.
Except, lol, try to keep it to a hs story. It’s not a blind question, they want to see how you are now, see those qualities they want.
It is broad to give you the leeway to tell the story you want to tell. What do you most want admissions officers to know about you that can’t be found elsewhere in the application? That should be the topic of your essay.
