I’m considering appealing UCI. Right now my appeal consists of how my depression has affected my interest in my education thus I screwed up my grades, but what else should I put. On the appeal direction it ask for “new and compelling academic information”

Also if you have appealed before and got accepted what did you put?

basically a self inflicted hardship won’t work especially at irvine this year. they had the third most applicants out of all ucs. if you got into somewhere else i suggest you try tht. go ahead and appeal if you really feel strong about your case but its about less than 0.75% chance.(stats according to 2009 appeals granted uci.admissions.edu)

“I have your precious daughter. If you want to see her alive again, you know what you have to do. Thick envelope this time, not thin.”

To strengthen your appeal, I recommend getting as many letters documenting your depression from non-relatives if you can. Did you see a mental health professional or a guidance counselor?

An amazing appeal usually would do something like prove that the transcript the college received was wrong, and your grades really were much higher.
