Just want to know what makes it unique and some reasons to go to GT… Thanks!

Atmosphere-wise GT is very special in that you get all of the conveniences and opportunities of an urban school, though you won’t feel like you are in a large city while you are on campus. While I do hear a lot of students/applicants say that the campus is ugly, I personally think it is very attractive (there is a surprising amount of green space on campus). Also, it is refreshing to see such a good school for academics which also has a presence in Division I athletics (the football games are a lot of fun).

I can’t say as far as academics/student life/etc goes, I was an EA applicant who has not yet decided where I want to go. However, I have visited several times and those are the things that I liked personally.

How far is GT away from Atlanta? Also in general, is Atlanta a nice city overall?

GT is in the heart of Atlanta. It’s about as downtown Atlanta as one could be.

GT is in Midtown, a bit separate from downtown.

It’s good that Tech is in Midtown. Because downtown sucks, nothing special. Just more hobos.

Downtown is actually pretty nice during the day with the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN, Philips Arena, etc. It’s just busy. Midtown is more relaxed while still being very close to the activity of downtown.
