I have been slacking off my freshman and sophomore years. I have 2.0 gpa. In my next two years i will be taking AP Macroeconomics, AP US History, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science as well as IB Higher Level Physics and IB Higher Level Mandarin.

What Must I do(Grades, Clubs, Athletics, etc.) in my next two years in order to get accepted at DePaul?

DePaul really takes grade trends into consideration, so just try your best in all of your classes next year and aim for a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Focus on bringing up your grades and if you have time try joining a few clubs or do volunteer/community service (DePaul is a big service school). Also, study hard for the ACT.

As long as they see that you’re significantly improving, you may have a shot.

I agree – as long as you can make a significant improvement in your academics, they probably won’t judge you too harshly on your earlier GPA. Luckily, you still have a lot of time to raise it. If possible, try to take some AP courses your senior or junior year, and study hard for the ACT/SAT. Volunteer work is good, and LEADERSHIP is a quality that they love to see in applicants. So, if you can keep up with your academics, try working with an organization at your school, playing a sport, or taking on extra responsibilities.
