What % of class are Economics majors?

It seems like there are so many Economics majors at Chicago.
I can understand why since Chicago has such a famous Graduate Economics program, but it would still be nice to have a little academic diversity.

What % of Chicago undergrads are Econ majors?

There is definitely academic diversity. There are popular majors at every school, and econ is definitely a popular major here. A Maroon article states that 10% of undergraduates major in economics; it does not state whether this is the number who graduate with that major or have it listed at a particular point in time. The article says that the second most popular major is the Biological Sciences with 6.2%.

according to the registrar’s statistics, 214/1190=18% bachelors degrees awarded last year were in econ: AIS User Guides | University Registrar. of course, students can double major the percentage of students majoring in econ is probably higher since a lot of econ kids do a math or stat major, too.
