I studied electrical engineering in college. I got denied from sports teams and many extracurricular opportunities in high school. I tried getting into internship, fraternities, engineering clubs in college only to get denied. Now, I can’t find a job anywhere. What do I do? No one will hire me because I lack experience, but I can’t get experience. I can’t get into grad school either.
It’s frustrating to be denied from so many opportunities when I was young, and now that is screwing me over
Do you have a degree in Electrical engineering from a US college?
If so, you need to connect with Career Services at your college and get them to help you figure this out.
Your experiences in HS are no longer relevant. You are a college graduate- and that means there WILL be opportunities for you, you will need to be aggressive in seeking them out.
Have you had a professional (at your college) look at your resume and help you? Have you had professional help (from your college) do mock interviews? If not- get on that ASAP!

I’m sorry that you had these frustrating experiences.
But you have a degree! A really good one! You’ll get there.
A few questions:
- How much work experience do you have, overall? I’m talking about ANY job, like fast food or lifeguarding or whatever.
- When did you graduate?
- Have you checked out the engineering resumes subreddit? Their wiki is a goldmine and you should read it and do everything they suggest Reddit - The heart of the internet
- How are you paying for life right now?
- Have you only applied to engineering jobs, and to jobs in specific geographic regions?
- Has your university career center been helpful?
You might have to look outside your field and geographic area. I’m guessing you’re at the point where you need to get a job, any job (unless you have one already). It looks worse to potential employers to be unemployed than to have a job outside your field.
So if engineering jobs across the country aren’t making offers, you’ll need to find something else full-time nearby you in the meantime.
And seriously, that wiki is an amazing resource. And your career center can also be an amazing resource but you’ll have to put in a lot of work yourself.

Closing as it’s a variation of poster’s previous threads. Asking again won’t elicit different responses
