What part of the ACT does MIT and Cornell look at?

so my ACT score is pretty bad for those school’s standards, i got E:29 M:35 R:28 S:25

now i know for the SAT these schools dont look at writing scores, is it the same with the ACT, do they just look at math and reading?

I know that Cornell doesn’t even factor in the writing scores for the SAT. I assume it would be the same for the ACT. Try contacting Cornell admissions and asking them if they count the ACT Plus Writing. I can’t speak much for Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Again, it’s best to get in touch with the schools in question directly.

They look at all of it.

While Cornell consistently states that they do not look at writing scores, and they do not report writing scores of accepted students, they do however list the writing score in the applicant’s portal. Am not sure how to interpret that inconsistency.

im guessing thats merely the result of the students thye chose, not a deciding factors
