What person (good or bad) had the most impact on the 20th century?

I would say Lenin

The last four people are joking, right? Sun Yat-Sen? Kim Jung Il? Barry Goldwater? (Not counting neobez)

hmm…in addition to many of those said, henry ford maybe

I would say that its between Hitler and Lenin

Hitler caused WWII, which defined the latter half of the 20th Century

Lenin formed the first communist government

Stalin and Mao both piggy-backed on Lenin’s political flair

George Kennan (the latter half at least)

i would stil say Hitler… if it weren’t for WW2, the world would be totally different… so different that i can’t even imagine… China wouldn’t have this many people, Japan would still have an army… and this and that…

V.I. Lenin or Chairman Mao Zedong by far

Although Hitler had an intense impact on the 20th century, his ideology did not last. For that reason, I’d have to say Lenin and Stalin, for propagating an ideology that gripped the entire century and killed over 100 million people.

And also, of course, I have to say Reagan. Reagan, Reagan, Reagan.

lol. today my grandma was like, Do you think Schwarzenegger will become president?
Me “No. No way.”
Grandma “They might change the rule…”
Me “It doesn’t matter. There’s no way it’ll happen.”
Grandma “Well, Reagan was an actor too!”
Me “IT WON’T HAPPEN.” lol

I love Reagan. I even love Carter! I did a report on Carter, everyone hates him, and I felt so bad, because he actually did a lot of good things!

i would say Bin Ladin
he showed all americans
although i am sad for the people who died, i also think that the US defense department was garbage

the guy who invented the tv…i dont know his/her name tho

blu-- I still want to marry Reagan. I’m obsessed. I went to his funeral.

ew, Carter. have you ever seen that Simpsons where they almost got a statue of FDR put up, and then they ran out of money, so they got a Carter one? and all the townspeople were like “we will not support such a statue!” lol.

newby-- bin laden was more of the 21st century, I’d say.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Carter! i feel so bad!

there were these horrible pictures they showed of Carter running a marathon shortly before Reagan took office. He ended up collapsing and didn’t finish the race - he looked like he was on the brink of death, it was terrible! and the book was like, “It was an unhappy metaphor for the end of Carter’s presidency”. i felt like bawling

hmm other awesome presidents…
Jefferson, Madison, Jackson, Polk, Teddy R, Taft, Wilson (i felt so bad for him, with the stroke and all!), FDR, Ike, JFK, Johnson was pretty awesome besides that little thing with that Vietnam place (I’M KIDDING. though Johnson rocked at domestic policy), Clinton did okay too.

And John Adams, just because he was played by Mr. Feeney in 1776, and they sang that awesome “Sit down, John!” song at him! SOMEONE OUGHT TO OOOOOPEN UP A WINDOW!

i should go study bio before i scare more people.

Andrew Jackson had a good start, what with the open house party for inauguration…but it all was downhill from there.

lol. no he was awesome! i mean yeah, the Cherokee Indian thing SUCKED, but the fact that he was like “John Marshall made his decision, let him enforce it”…THAT’S AWESOME.

ooooh, i hate him, more than any other president evar…we had an impeachment trial for him last year, and i prosecuted him to death…hee

Henry Ford…no question.

Xanatos,

I wasn’t joking.

hmanx,

Philo T. Farnsworth…

the person I named in my first post, is the man who invented the television and I believe the television has more fundamentally changed the world than any other thing in the 20th cent: more than the good guys or bad guys. We are different people because of it.

yah, i was thinking ford, and
fountain…I totally wrote about the television having the greatest impact on the 20th century for Wash and Lee. I can’t remember the other guy that is sometimes given attribute for the television, I included both their names.

Heck, Bill Gates is a piker compared to Steve Jobs!
