I don’t know about you, but I found the ‘Interest’ questions to be kind of annoying. I mean yeaaah they give you a sense of the person, but seriously.

What did you guys write for favorite book/preformances/publications? :)

What did you guys write for favorite book/preformances/publications? :)

I had a TON of blogs I put down (including a few Columbia ones). Didn’t really talk about them elsewhere, but in my interview I talked a lot about blogs (which was especially pertinent because my interviewer was a journalist).

For books… I have a few favorites like “Push” by Sapphire, “Lolita”, “The Godfather”, some other typical ones…

And for performances/movies/exhibits, I put down a few art exhibits I’ve seen, a pretty eclectic list of movies, and also 2 concerts I had been to over the summer.

[PS - DON’T COPY MEEE!!!]

I put the Beijing Evening post on my one…lame huh. I also put the new york times magazine, as an electronic one. And this Nature mag I subscribe to. I didn’t know blogs counted as publications…but then, I don’t read blogs:)

Books, thank god I read a few classics this year. I never thought I’d get a chance to brag. As an international student I mean. Compared to english speakers what I read is nothing. I put “wuthering heights, pride and prejudice, sense and sensibility, to kill a mockingbird, the lovely bones and the twilight series” I was going to put Gone With the wind, but I was only half way through so…and several chinese classics for class that I’m pretty sure the admisions people will have no idea what is about. Who have you ever met that have read “dawns blossoms plucked at dusk”? Honestly…I think I put that on for nothing.

performances/exhibits/movies, I thanked god too, for the european tour. I just hope all those museums count, cause otherwise my life is completely exhibit-free. And also I went to load of ballet shows, cause of my dad’s work. So those too.

for publications: lemonde.fr, lefigaro.fr, new york times, tennis magazine

for books:… i had a tonnnn. i put some russian literature, reading lolita in tehran, blink, the last lecture, robinson crusoe, some shakespeare, un sac de billes, and l’homme qui savait tout

for movies and exhibits: i listed a bunch of french movies on sundance channel, big fish, the cezanne exhibit, good eats for tv, and some french artists for music

Do you guys think Webcomics count as publications?

I wrote TIME Magazine, CNN.com, Sports Illustrated, Scientific American, DISCOVER Magazine, Smashing Magazine .net Magazine, The Toronto Star.

One of the magazines I listed was “Wired.” Anyone here ever read it?

Yah I read it. How would listing a webcomic such as xkcd.com be viewed?

My books were hella random… I read stuff like the “Dhammapada” and “Pride, Prejudice and Zombies”

Whether this works for or against me we shall soon see :D

What’s pride prejudice and zombies about? I saw that one on the web, it looked gruesome.

well i put italian vogue, numero and lots of fashion megazines… along with some good books/megazines

concert was like lady gaga tour and i really made myself sound like a homosexual
cus i am a guy but i really read these stuff so couldnt help it

Pride, Prejudice & Zombies is exactly what it sounds like… Pride and Prejudice with added excitement of undead devil spawn. It’s pretty hilarious.

Put stuff that reflects your character.

For me, I presented myself as a guy who loves math/sci and baskeball. I put books written by Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan, but also books like Ender’s Game and such.

@NWdivisionChamps…Kobe or LeBron?

Haha, I put PopSci down for print publications…because I do read it. I don’t know how it happened, but apparently Popular Science thinks I have a lifetime subscription to them or something, as my supposed subscription ending date is long past, and I’m still getting it every month.

Put down books like Tuesdays with Morrie, and a couple funny ones like Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. Didn’t put down that many, actually, but then again I’ve been out of school for a year.

Same question–I love xkcd.

Honestly, if they don’t accept me because I put it down, its not worth going. Therefore, its on the app.

@ xshadow63

Gotta go with LeBron man… I love Kobe and all but LeBron just does things Kobe will never be able to do (rebound/assist/block etc.) Plus he’s so much younger and the ceiling is higher. Kobe has more skill, but LeBron with his combination of athleticism and height just makes him a freak of nature that’s near impossible to guard. In a year or so this comparison will not even be made sinec LeBron has so much more potential.

HOWEVER, I do NOT agree with his on-court antics (dancing, etc.)
