So I’m going to be frank I’m a upcoming junior majoring in psych & anthropology and I’ve wasted two years sitting on my ass instead of volunteering, working, internships etc. I have roughly a 2.9 GPA and is planning on retaking winter classes to Improve my GPA. I am wondering however what all whould the ideal candidate need to gain enterence into a Phd program in grad school?

Research, research, more research. And strong grades (3.5 or better, ideally).

Internships in-field. Your job experience is going to be a big deal, given your GPA. And your writing samples may be particularly important (so that you can prove the capacity to publish in the future,) and so spend a lot of time on those.
