What question did YOU come up with?

Ha Ha
I liked it too. I wanted to pick a question that I would want to answer.

Mine was “Most people hate Adolf Hitler for his atrocities against the jews but almost everyone admires him for his leadership and oratory skills. Tell us about a person whom you hate yet admire”

waleedk87, even though your question is interesting, I think it conjures too many negative images and is a controversial one at best. Many people would question an admiration of Hitler, especially someone who might have had family affected the Holocaust; and in college admissions, you don’t know who the person on the other side will be and what experiences he/she might have had.

**** man ur right! do u think this can strongly affect my application?

You know, I’m not sure, and I didn’t mean to scare you or anything.

My guess is that if the adcom who is reviewing your application isn’t Jewish or connected to the Holocaust, you should be okay.

waleedk87, if NU doesn’t admit you, I don’t think it will be because of your question. It shows that you’re not afraid of complex problems.

Waiting for application results is hard, but try not to make yourself crazy over it. There’s nothing you can do about it now, and you’ll soon know which fantastic school you’ll be attending. Your hard work will pay off one way or another!

Mine was “Describe your favorite photograph and what it says about you,” or something to that effect. I’m taking photography this year, so it was kind of on my mind…

Mine was
Have you ever fully captured your dream image of an idea? If yes, write an essay describing the experiance. If no, write an essay that compares the dream to reality.

i didnt like mine at all… it was

We all enjoy being able to laugh at ourselves from time to time, even if the circumstance in question was initially painful. Please tell us about a heartbreaking experience that later became comical when you reflected on it. What did it teach you and how has it influenced your life?

What is your least favorite quote?

If you could fight in any war in the entire history of the world, which war would you fight in? Which side would you fight on? Why?

Write a speech to give at your high school graduation, highlighting memories and your views on the future.

Forrest Gump said “there’s an awful lot you could tell about a person by their shoes.” What do your shoes say about you?

scoop you have almost the same question as travelgirl18…

yeah, i guess i missed that one. It’s a good question. It helped me get in early

congratulations!!!

mine was:
“if you teach a child to love to learn, they can and will willingly learn anything” Do you believe this is true? Why or why not?

i went to montessori school, and this was kinda our “motto” i guess

Some standard ones:

“If you were a car, what make and model would you describe yourself as, and why?”
“If your home were burning and you could rush in and retrieve a single item, what would it be and why?”

I don’t know if I posted mine already, but here it is: If you could describe yourself with any character from a movie, play, or TV show, who would it be and why?

I think if I had to answer my own question, I would have to say Harry Potter. He is so me, except for the magic part. I procrastinate like he does, I’m not the best of the best of the best in my school, but I do have determination and “moral fiber” as well as the ability to think things through.

“One of Northwestern’s most endearing symbols is a 6-foot tall quartzite rock, so aptly dubbed, “The Rock.” As an icon of school unity and tradition, it has been painted by students to express their beliefs and key issues. If you were able to, what would you paint on it, and how does that reflect your character?”

yep.
