@Woandering
Haha thank you! So would I be fine if I can raise my SAT CR up to like 730+?
Seeing as most of the programs are top-notch and therefore reaches for everyone, you’ll never really be ‘fine.’ However, your chances would increase. I’m not sure if the increase is significant enough to be worth the effort, so that’s up to you. Good luck!
Thank you!
heyyy! I’m also interested in applying to combined medical programs - and your credentials seem farrr more qualified than mine! (if you visit my profile) Your extracurriculars are great (especially with all those leadership positions) and your GPA is fantastic! However, the only thing I would work on would be your SAT score - it’s a great score already, but if you could get it to 2300 or even above (and reach a combined CR and math score of at least a 1500 - maybe you have already) you can consider applying to other competitive programs such as the Penn State/Jefferson one. However, these combined programs are ridiculously competitive - 2400 scorers are rejected too. I think that any one of the combined programs (besides Pittsburgh and Univ. of Alabama) would be a reach, simply because of the sheer competitiveness. You are definitely qualified for such programs though!! PS message me if you want any practice SAT tests!!
haha maybe we could discuss! I will message you if I run out of materials… Thank you! How are your stats like?

Holy crap that SAT tho
I just got my three sat ii subject test scores: 770 Bio M, 800 Math Lvl I (I took this instead of spanish cuz i knew that I would fail spanish), and 660 US History (not sending probably)
So right now I have SAT II:
800 on chem, physics, math lvl I and II
770 on bio m
should I even bother taking more?
Also, could someone please please comment on my awards/ECs? I only heard about SAT which I know that I have to improve. Does anyone have his/her own personal accomplishment that helped? And as someone pointed out above would an asian dude having some asian-like accomplishment hurt him? lol Thanks!
I feel like some are too quick to dismiss your awards. It’s extremely difficult to get on top 20 for chem Olympiad or qualify for usajmo. Most of us are aware that a lot of Asians go for stem, however being math team captain and an Aime qualifier (a lot more commonplace) does not match the prestige of your awards. You have a good chance for all the programs just raise your sat/act.
@jhgong
Get the reading sat up a little and you’re golden
Everything else looks good
Definitely don’t need more subject tests
@debate4ever @Mjag1898
Thank you! But it’s sad that all the comments go back to SAT/ACT I wish I came to US earlier? (lol it’s my fifth year this year haha) What are some recommendations for SAT CR? I took it twice but CR stayed the same while other two sections became 800s.
Also about my bowling as my sport:
I currently have an average of 201 (you need 200 to be a pro I think). I do not have any major awards for bowling since I get really nervous at tourneys but I always do well at my youth league. I am also the league captain. How could I emphasize the fact that I am good at bowling? I thought about making a school bowling team to compete in regional areas but would it be worth my time?
I also play soccer and will be playing varsity for three years next year. (My school sux at sports though haha) I probably be a cocaptain or captain next year. I play a lot (10+ hours even off-season period) usually. Should I mention both bowling and soccer as my ECs? I have like 2 empty spots since I am not putting NHS or stuffs that I do not care.
Final question!
I am submitting art portfolio (I am pretty good at art). Can anyone give me some insights about this? Also, I got 5th place at National Beta Convention last year for on site drawing. I know that Beta competitions is nothing compared to my other awards but should I include this instead of Science Olympiad national medal so that i can show my diverse interest/talent?
Thank you everyone for responses!
Dude your amazing. You’ll get into to every program. Why you so worried?
@mco1997
Those programs are really competitive. Even University of Alabama at Birmingham one is like 5 percent acceptance (10 out of 200 get in). So I need some help to strengthen my resume more.
Could anyone please answer the questions that I had few comments before??
Increase your scores that’s about it
You’ve just slayed my entire existence.
You’re in really good shape, and I don’t think worrying will help.
I’d mention Bowling
@TheAtlantic
Over soccer or both? In 9th grade I bowled like 4hours a week. But now I play soccer more than I bowl since my school is a boarding school where I can enjoy soccer more easily with my friends. So do you think I have chance for competitive colleges/programs?
Both. Soccer is probably more important if youre more active/accomplished in it (3 years Varsity + Potential Captain).
I have been captain & highest average in bowling league for long time also. i am also 10 times better at bowling than at soccer lol. Are you a rising senior also?
