I recently bought some Kraft’s Jalapeño String Cheese and I love it! I think Sargento’s also makes a version.
Great snack!

I recently tried Ciao Bella Mango Sorbetto. It was VERY yummy.
As a college student, all of them.
As a kid I always loved the smell of the rotisserie chickens in the deli section of the grocery store, but my mother would never ever even consider buying one back in the 60s and 70s. Today they are a great go do convenience food and I still love the way they make the store smell.
@mom2collegekids - I love jalapeno string cheese too. I don’t buy it much because I would eat it all. We just had the TJ’s frozen meat lasagna for dinner tonight. I rarely use ready made dinners but this was really good. It is small box so a good size for 2 of us without much left over. I also bought a pack of jalapeno dill kettle chips at TJ’s- I won’t buy those again as they were way too good!!!
I love Lamb Shanks from Costco, but haven’t seen them recently. We like potstickers that are frozen and just need to be boiled. Rotisserie chicken at Costco is good, as long as you know how you plan to use it all.
Southwestern wraps from Sams!
Rotisserie chicken and steamed lobster. My grocery also has a sushi bar and I sometimes pick up a variety for dinner,
The fresh ravioli lasagna from Costco.
I go to the hot bar at Whole Foods when I don’t want to go out to eat or cook at home. Now that I am avoiding sugar, it is helpful that they list all their ingredients. I never realize how wide spread sugar is in prepared food.
I second Ciao Bella Manogo sherbet.
Another vote for Costco Rotisserie chicken. For 6 bucks I get a bunch of sandwiches and a pot of soup out of it. Sometimes even a small pan of chicken verde enchiladas. For the soup, boil the carcass with whatever veg is needing to be used, a few noodles and the leftover shreds of meat…yummmmy.
The Costco big, fresh, pizzas are a deal as well.
At TJs, my vice is the chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels. They are gone almost as soon as they are opened. Since we started our diets, we’ve avoided TJs for this reason.
Our Costco also sells 8 cooked chicken leg quarters for the same price as the rotisserie. It’s in with the cold prepared items (I guess they use the rest of the chicken for their chicken salad selections – which are awesome – or their soups).
With our currently empty nest, we’re reworking all our food options/habits/shopping/etc. For the moment that means we’re going through the extra freezer. Most of my current shopping involves fresh vegetables and such to supplement.
Costco has a meat lasagna that is really good. It comes in two family pack servings and whenever I serve it, everyone really enjoys it.
Whole Foods sushi is my go-to when I am too lazy to drive to the Japanese place. Some of the soups at the hot bar are pretty good.
I also love the sorbets made by Ciao Bella, particularly Blueberry Passion Fruit, Blackberry Cabernet, and Raspberry.
Sushi and tamales are my “ready-made” weaknesses and much easier to grab and buy in the grocery store than to take the time to source ingredients and make.
I love TJ’s Greek Style chicken. You have to heat it up, but it doesn’t take long!
I’ve had that! Very good ^^^
Does salad count?
I’m loyal the one and only salad bowl I’ll buy from Publix: Spinach Dijon Salad.
I cry every time.
I like Lean Cuisine meals- often have them for breakfast. They have several which are nostalgic- bring on the comfort foods from childhood. I also like Sea Cuisine prepared fish- easier to get tender fish for us and good flavors. The Birds Eye Asian medley steam fresh veggie blend is good as well. Tyson’s teriyaki chicken thighs- get my dark meat in single servings. With just the two of us it is a lot harder to get variety if I make the meals I used to- I freeze a lot of the Indian dals (beans) for H. Just as much work to cook for two as for more.
Frozen “TV dinners” are so much better than in my childhood when my mom would make them for us when my dad was gone on a trip. There are more sophisticated versions and better nutrition. Plus- microwave ovens make a huge difference. And using a toaster oven for cooking those fish.
Guilty pleasures include the Toll House chocolate chip cookies (and others) all you need to do is bake.
