For fun. Found a Sears brochure, Fall 1990. Clothes made in the USA.
I do not have any in my closet.

I recently spotted a sheep sweater at Nordstrom. THE sheep sweater! Made by the same maker as the sweater made famous by Princess Diana. I am no princess or beauty queen, but it had to go home with me. I get so many compliments on it, even though the youngsters can’t tell without googling who made the sweater so famous.
Anyone else have a Belle France dress hanging in their closet? I have the one I wore to my 20th HS reunion. It was a very expensive dress at the time, and I really loved it.
Also have a black sculptured velvet tea length dress. Worn to a black tie event also in the ‘80s.
Both dresses are the same style…drop princess waist, 3/4 length sleeves. And I don’t think we ate anything for a week after I bought each dress because I’m sure they both cost way above my usual clothes budget at the time.
@BunsenBurner S has a sheep sweater, I believe he bought it when he lived in London several years ago. He gets numerous compliments when he wears it.
I had to look up a sheep sweater. BB! Did you buy green or grey? It is adorable
This is the classic one (Nordstrom quickly sold out of the cotton one) :
And the story:
Oh I totally would have rocked this dress, after I used the hot rollers on my hair and found some No Nonsense black hose.
I loved Belle France dresses. Fortunately I lived near some discount clothing place that sold them at a more reasonable price. BF had a maternity line and I had a beautiful blue dress that got me through all sorts of holidays and events when I was pregnant.
