What school did you transfer to?

Alright, this question is not for all those honor, 3.8-4.0 bearing, “you sleep?”, CC students. This is for everyone else. What school did you transfter to, and with what GPA and major? Only want responses from people transferring to an ivy, or public ivy (cal or ucla), or Stan/any other prestige U, if you did it with below par grades, in which case you’ll have to divulge your secret as to how to get in to everybody-- luck is not an answer.

That was probably too long winded for such a short question. Now, get to replying.

i have a 3.5 and i got into all the top schools; my secret - i cured cancer :)

funny, but no help. serious responses!

how did u do it hobo? how did u cure cancer?

Hobo urine.

I knew it! I always tried using tiger and walrus urine, but I always had an inkling that it was hobo urine. Hobofromdowntown, you rogue, bravo.

3.48—ucla.

how: good essay? family issues/made them feel sorry for me. … i think, i see no other reason to accept me.

Wow. Haha, really? What was your major, Malishka?

UCLA. I had a 3.82ish, but I really didn’t try very hard and I really, definitely slept. My gpa was considered “on the low side” for my major, though. If that counts any.

ok, allie’s Communications major.

"3.48—ucla.

how: good essay? family issues/made them feel sorry for me. … i think, i see no other reason to accept me."

Give yourself more credit, your gpa is pretty damn good malishka :)

i have no ECs though

I haven’t done any ECs, and I just finished my first year. How important are ECs?

“i have no ECs though”

Malishka31, you got into UCLA on your own merits and not because the adcoms felt ‘sorry’ for you.

“I haven’t done any ECs, and I just finished my first year. How important are ECs?”

Bioguy, different people will tell you different things about the significance of extracurriculars. I would advise you to just pursue whatever interests you.

hey allie, did you get into UCLA with or without TAP?

With, but my major doesn’t actually consider TAP, so it was pointless.
