What Schools are realistic?

Hi All,

I’m a graduating senior at Colgate University with a double major in Economics and Mathematics. My GPA is a 3.45 and my major GPA is a 3.65.

I was the vice president of my fraternity, vice president of the school’s interfraternity council, a chair of the senior gift committee, and a student mentor for incoming freshmen for 3 years.

I scored a 720 on my GMAT, and I am attending Vanderbilt’s Masters in Accounting program next year.

I also have previous work experience with 2 summers at Wachovia and 1 summer at UBS ibank.

I’m not planning on applying for a few years, and know that a large portion of my candidacy depends on my post-grad work experience, but I’m wondering if anyone can giveme a realistic range of schools that I should shoot for.

Thanks for your help!

Top 20, probably some top 10s. Good job on the GMAT and the gpa is about average for Top 10. Work experience will determine the rest. Good luck with the Masters.

Having attended Colgate as well, I have known friends and classmates who have attended every top 10 MBA school except Stanford with scores in that range. Of course, like you said, work experience (as well as essays) will be the most important criteria, but those scores will basically not stop you from getting into any school (except maybe Stanford).
