What schools are suitable for me?

Hi, i just wanted to know what colleges are matches for me. Please include UCs and privates from anywhere, just note that financial aid should be generous.
I’m just going to list any information i think would be on an application.

Male, CA
3 languages
Ranked 14 out of 870
Prestigious high school
4.15 UC gpa
3.85 UW gpa
7 APs throughout high school
1890 SAT - first try, i will retake in October
Major: Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

E.C.s: summer classes
california scholarship federation membership - still don’t know what it does?
volunteering as a tutor
volunteering as a library
city award for recognition
AP Scholar with honor (up to junior year, not senior)
member of other community organizations
paid job
Key club member
Founding member and leader of a school club

Ummm…

if you guys need any other info. please let me know!

Please chance me for UCs, USC, Johns Hopkins, NYU, and maybe SLO? and any school you think would be fit for me!
Financial aid (if private) and my two majors are impotant!
Also, i think my ECs are too mediocre. do you guys agree?

Thanks!

You’ve got a decent chance at UCLA and Berkeley. I think Johns Hopkins and USC will be tough with your SAT score. Don’t consider NYU if you need financial aid - you will relatively get nothing. Good luck!

@Saffyy
Really? Because the averages for UCB and UCLA’s weighted UC GPAs are really high… over 4.4. And my unweighted is average for USC.

If you’re into engineering, have you considered CalTech? It seems like you have a math/science interest so CalTech seems like a good match provided you raise your SAT scores.

You should try to increase your SAT in the fall for hopkins, or maybe try the ACT? Also since you’re into engineering, look into georgia tech?

@sf7345 i have considered CalTech but i feel like my gpa is way too low

bumppppppp

Have you looked at rice?

bumppppppp

Your SAT will bring your application down. Other than that, you could probably get into most of those schools, especially the UCs.

Bump that SAT up! (I took the SAT once and had an 1890 too. I just did the ACT and now my equivalent is about 2040.)

Yes I definitely concur raise the SAT or try the ACT and than I would say try for UCLA … UCSD I think would be a match(assuming your major is not impacted idk if it is) UCB no offense but I personally think is a reach you have very good stats but not UCB good  … I don’t know bout USC :/

Is the ACT generally easier than the SAT? I definitely will try the ACT either way.

bumppp
